Gill is the Executive Officer of the South Australian Association of Rural Counselling Services Inc.

There are 12 Rural Counselling Services throughout SA at present which employ 14 rural counsellors. The services are South East, Mallee, Central Riverland, Flinders & Pastoral, Mid North, Barossa Hills & Plains, Fleurieu and Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula, Eastern Eyre, Le Hunte & Environs and Far West.

The rural counsellors employed by the services provide free and confidential independent financial advice to rural communities. The services are managed by a voluntary management committee, the only person who is employed is the rural counsellor. Funding is provided by State and Federal governments in equal share.

Gill is the only paid employee of the State Association which is managed by an Executive committee. They are totally funded by the State Government. Her job is to ensure all records are kept of the State Association, organise and attend meetings to take minutes etc., liaise with funding bodies regarding policy etc and provide information to services and any other organisation which benefits our members, organise seminars and training days and general administrative work.
