"Robertstown Peace Hall Inc"
Strawberry Fete 2003
The Peace Hall hold a Annual "Strawberry Fete" on the 3rd Saturday in November.
It is a real community event, especially for the children.
This year, the Chairman of the Peace Hall Committee and Master of Ceremonies, Mr Glenn Rooke, presented framed certificates to Pat Ruediger and Ron Wilksch for their outstanding and dedicated service to the hall for 30 and 32 years respectively, both having retired from the committee. "Well done Pat & Ron".
Special mention was also made of Marie Heinrich's service, having worked for at the Strawberry Fete for 56 years, with 26 of them convening the Tea. Marie is still an active member on the committee. "Well done Marie".
A large crowd availed themselves to a tasty two course smorgasbord style tea, which was served by the ladies and is always a pleasure to sit down to after a day playing sport or just doing the odd job around home.
The bottle and cake stalls were patronised well, however, a Strawberry Fete is not complete without having a plate of Strawberries, Cream & Ice-cream.
Drinks, Lucky Dips and Sweets were popular by the children and supported very well.
Ennvoy Band provided the music for dancing and also entertained the children with their favourites such as the Birdie Dance, Madison, Mexican Hat Dance, Hokey Pokey and Musical Chairs.
Throughout the night Monte Carlo dances were won by Stella & Gordon Schutz, Pauline Mansell & John Mosey and Rosemary Schulz & Ian Mosey.
At the end, Glenn extended his thanks to all for their attendance, his committee and community members for their contribution and support.
The proceeds from the Strawberry Fete go towards the maintenance of the Robertstown Peace Hall.
