HAY CONDITIONERS
With the ever-growing hay export industry growers and hay producers have found the need to cut and shed their valuable commodity as soon as possible.
Most hay is cut down using a mower disc conditioner or a sickle type conditioner. These machines are very good but the conditioning tends to ‘kink’ the stalk of the plant several places along the stem. This often leaves the knods untouched these take longer to dry thus creating a longer period of time for the curing process. (This can take up to 18-24 days in poor conditions). The whether can also be departmental to the product.
Buschutz Engineering has designed a hay conditioner to pick up an already conditioned windrow immediately after the hay is cut. It will also pick up a windrow from a windrowing machine.
The conditioner crushes the complete stalk
The stalk is then hurled out the back of the machine and left to dry in a loose windrow
- Some results have had as low as a three-day period. Cut the first day and on the end of the third day baled and stored in shed.
