RBE - VOIP is a Voice Over Internet Protocols (VOIP) phone service.

A VOIP service enables you to make telephone calls over your ADSL or Wireless Broadband internet connection.  You do not have to be an RBE Internet Customer to use our VOIP service however our network is engineered to give maximum performance for VOIP and we cannot guarantee the quality of service via another Providor.

RBE - VOIP over ADSL : call quality over ADSL is comparable to that of a standard telephone     service.   

RBE - VOIP over Wireless Broadband : call quality over Wireless Broadband is comparable to that of a mobile phone call.   Wireless Broadband performance can vary depending on location and VOIP may not be reliable if the tower becomes congested.  

You will need a 3G Router and Gigaset phone for your VOIP service.

A soft phone on a computer can also be used however the soft phone needs to support G729 codec for best performance.  A soft phone can be downloaded from :

We offer 5 pre-set levels

Level 1 : Default Level
Categories blocked : pornography, child pornography, obscene/tasteless, R rated sites, explicit art, peer to peer file sharing, drugs, gambling, criminal skills, terrorism etc.
This category aims to provide the best balance between protection and convenience filtering out known pornographic and adult sites without impacting on research communication and entertainment, however will not protect against premeditated searches in legitimate image and video hosting sites.

Level 2 : Conservative Level
Categories blocked : this category includes all of Level 1 with the additions of image searches, free hosting sites, video hosting sites. Image searches are search engines which allow people to host their own web pages for free. 
This level will protect against premeditated searches for adult material.

Level 3 : Whitelist Profile
All sites are blocked unless they are on the white list. This level restricts access to the Internet with the exception of a list of safe sites including educational, news, government, banks, ebay, shopping and holiday sites. Sites can be added to the whitelist however they will be screened before they are added.
This level is suitable for those wanting to minimise web access during times when supervision is not possible eg late at night or after school.

Level 4 : Minimal Profile
Categories blocked : pornography, child pornography. Every other category and protocol is open.
Peer to peer and other protocols which can be used to transmit pornography are not filtered.

Level 5 : Default Level ex Chat
Categories blocked : this category includes all of Level 1 with the addition of allowing parental decision over when myspace and msn are used. Premeditated searches in legitimate image and video hosting sites will produce adult material.
